Π+C house

This rapidly urbanized area boasts a downhill slope, providing unobstructed city views and natural ventilation from westerly winds. The residents are a family of two children. The home provides a common area, on the ground level, with a city view from the living area and a vast veranda in its extension. Up on the 1st floor are three bedrooms and utility rooms.
The design principle focuses on integrating the new topography with the existing landscape. The building features a Π-shaped common area on the ground and a C-shape on 1st floor. A metal canopy marks the entryway. The garden unfolds on the natural terrain. Vegetation enriches the building's simplified forms.
The void over the dining area separates the private spaces into two entities - children's rooms in the east with direct outdoor access and adult's place in the west, with the primary bedroom overlooking the city.
Overall, the design balances tenants' needs so that the building's surroundings can provide a peaceful retreat from extreme urbanization.
